Release Notes

v1.0.2-linux (jam version with fixes)

This version is released after the jam deadline with some bugfixes, but all gameplay and assets are otherwise identical.

Known issues:

  • Some older distros' file utility may see the executable as a shared object. It can be normally ran from the terminal.

Fixed:

  • The Linux binary is replaced with one compiled with LLVM/Clang.

v1.0.2-windows-hidpi (jam version with fixes)

This version is released after the jam deadline with some bugfixes, but all gameplay and assets are otherwise identical.

Known issues:

  • On lower-end machines, this build can have drastically lower framerates than v1.0.2-windows or previous versions.

Fixed:

  • Save folders will no longer have a trailing dot. This works around some Windows-specific problems. Your progress from a previous version will be lost unless you copy the save file manually, due to a change in the project title.
  • Text will look better on devices with HiDPI displays.

v1.0.2-windows (jam version with fixes)

This version is released after the jam deadline with some bugfixes, but all gameplay and assets are otherwise identical.

Fixed:

  • Save folders will no longer have a trailing dot. This works around some Windows-specific problems. Your progress from a previous version will be lost unless you copy the save file manually, due to a change in the project title.

v1.0.1 (jam version with fixes)

This version is released after the jam deadline with some bugfixes, but all gameplay and assets are otherwise identical.

Known issues:

  • The Linux binary requires glibc 2.29 and will refuse to run on older distros.
  • Save folders on Windows will have a trailing dot, leading to various platform-specific problems.
  • Fonts may look blurry when the game is running on a Windows device with a HiDPI display.

Fixed:

  • Unlock now works properly when levels are played out of order. Existing save files will be fixed upon launch.
  • The music should be less suspectable to stopping mid-game.

v1.0.0 (jam version)

This version is released within the jam deadline.

Known issues:

  • In this version, the ending won't unlock if the levels are played out of order!
  • The Linux binary requires glibc 2.29 and will refuse to run on older distros.
  • Save folders on Windows will have a trailing dot, leading to various platform-specific problems.
  • In some cases, music may stop mid-game. Restarting the game is a workaround as progress is automatically saved every level.
  • Rarely, when loading existing solutions, the last step will be skipped, but its cost will still be deducted. Usually, this will result in a $200 increase in budget compared to the solution's supposed cost. It's not currently clear which kind of situations will lead to this issue. This can be worked around in smaller levels by resetting and manually rebuilding the solution.
  • Some pipe colors may be difficult to differentiate for players with alternate color vision. The shortcuts 1/2/3/4 can be used to locate pipe endings of the same color as a workaround.
  • Fonts may look blurry when the game is running on a Windows device with a HiDPI display.

wow this game is very impressiv' for a Jam Game!! Are you pro?

first of all, thank you for linux build!

the game is amazing, i have not beat the game yet, but i love solving this kind of puzzles so much that i would love to buy some kind of expanded version.

i don't know why, but the game reminds me of 'rochard' game, i think this kind of plot would fit your game perfectly.

also it would be nice, if lava inside the tube will look darker, so it could be more clear, which tube is yellow one.

Cool game! Nice idea, clean graphics, IMO amzing interface for both mouse and keyboard and even a story to boot, and I'm only at level 3!

In the above description of the known issues, maybe make clear what are issues with the named version itself vs. issues that come from migrating from a previous version. For example, I thought I had to do some file copying to keep my save game between sessions on 1.0.2 windows, but apparently the issue is moving from 1.0.0 up to 1.0.2 (which may only apply to a small number of people vs. those that see the game for the first time at 1.0.2).

Thank you! The description is reworded a bit. Hopefully that will make it clearer!
